Propuesta de reformulación del "Listado de derechos del paciente mental en Cuba"

the work done responds to a qualitative strategy, which comprises a descriptive, transversal and development study as a type of research with the aim of proposing a reformulation of the "list of mental patient's rights in cuba" in force, starting from the contributions made by the bioethical thinking in this field. we surveyed 37 physicians linked to psychiatry practice as specialists or residents. of them, only 6 did not know the abovementioned deontological code and 30 considered it unsuitable for the current social and ethical context (partially 22 and fully 8). the main problems referred to the use of the informed consent, discrimination, definition of liberties and access to diagnostic-therapeutic-rehabilitatory resources. finally, starting from the theoretical framework and the listed criteria, we specify the appropriate modifications and make a proposal list of mental patient's rights.
