Abstract: in chile access to cultural good and service is getting wider and more diverse. according to data of the second national survey on participation and cultural consumption, chilean population perceives that options of cultural consumption have widening considerably and, furthermore, that access to cultural expressions is getting easier. this article addresses new forms of access to cultural good and services in contemporary chile. to this end, we applied an factor analysis of multiple correspondence out of which a typology of chileans cultural consumers was elaborated. the analysis shows that cultural consumption varies according to socio-economic and educational levels and across different age groups. but is also reveals new and more diversified forms of cultural consumption, which can be identified and described as function of other variables such as access and frequency of cultural consumption and the structural and subjective justifications given for not accessing cultural good and services that are available in their social milieu.
