La producción académica brasile？a en Educación Ambiental

this work studies the emergence of environmental education in brazil based on an analysis of dissertations and theses produced in this area by different graduate programs, identifying the authors of the works, the educational institutions, the graduate programs, the areas of knowledge and the themes dealt with in the studies. using the summaries, the dissertations and theses, it has been possible to classify them according to geographic region, teaching level, the public involved in this research, according to environmental education categories. data demonstrate the relevance of research in environmental education and its relation to great events in the field such as rio-92 and dissemination of the national curricular parameters-pcns that have environment and health as transversal themes. the paper points out the need to carry out other studies to obtain more data and deeper information about the characteristics of research performed in field of environmental education.
