currently, the environmental degradation is the problem of county managers and the monitoring / reclamation projects include sampling, integration and analysis of diverse nature data. this work was developed by use geotechnologies and supported to the diagnosis and environmental management of cambará do sul county, rio grande do sul state, brazil. the forest survey generated map of land use by maxver classification on images tm landsat 5. the field survey diagnosed use conflicts based in the environmental law. from this, proposal of river basins classification was elaborated to environmental monitoring. the study demonstrated possibilities to get fast answers with low cost techniques. the information may be periodically updated and to be able public consulted. this work is part of curicaca project. accord 025/96, brazilian environment ministry and approached land use and water river basins classification.
