Abstract: in this paper we present the design and the results of one implementation of an activity of study and research (asr), to study the polynomial functions whit students of 5th years at secondary school. the anthropological theory of didactics of chevallard (2004) and the play of frame of régine douady (1986) are adopted like theoretical framework. we discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of the sequence and some student protocols are presented.
