Cuerpos académicos: factores de integración y producción de conocimiento

this article examines different theoretical visions around the formation of academic communities. it carries out a quantitative review of the consolidated and in consolidation academic bodies back to 2002, when they began, until 2009, in public universities of the states in mexico. it collected the opinion of 275 researchers on the motivations to develop academic bodies. using data from the national council for science and technology about scientific articles, patenting activities and technological trade balance of mexico, it concludes that increasing the academic bodies has not improved mexico's position in world science.
