Abstract: the lodged strange bodies in gastrointestinal tract, constitute a surgical peculiarity since frequently they manage to progress through the same one and to be expelled to the outside in 95% of the cases being retained unfrecuently at level of pylorus, angle of treitz, ileocecal valve and in smaller frequency in the appendix (0,0005%). we reported the case of a child preschool male, five years old, that had a pin in his appendix since two years of age. to the 4 and 5 years it presented/displayed recurrent pyogenic hepatic abscess. surgical extraction is decided finding appendix adhered to the later parietal peritonea, by granuloma to strange body; with intraluminal pin and inflammatory histological changes in the appendix. the strange bodies of acute edges can lodge in the appendix and produce inflammatory answer and perforate it and to originate secondary hepatics abscesses. the early surgical extraction is even recommended in asymptomatic patients to avoid greater complications.
