Factores de riesgo para el consumo recreacional y la adicción de sustancias psicotrópicas y estupefacientes en estudiantes de educación superior

the drug consumption like cultural, economic and political fact present in the student population, its associates with consumist, competitive, hedonist, individualistic model, of lack of inhibition and economic success. those circumstances motivated to us to investigate consumption and addiction in two groups of students. using anonymous survey, we analyzed 70 medicine students of the central university of venezuela and with clinical history 69 of other institutions with addiction and sindrom of abstinence, from september 2006 to september 2007. the results in medicine students demonstrated the age of beginning of the recreacional consumption to 15 years 5.88 %; masculine sex 64.70 %; unmarried 88.23 %; alcoholic habits 88.23 % and tabacco 23.52 %; marijuana drugs illicit of beginning 41.18 %; combination of substances 52.93 %; disfuncionals families 23.53 %; addict relatives 5.88 %; inferior academic yield to 15 points 70.58 %; whereas in students of other addict institutions: age of beginning to 15 years 43.48 %; masculine sex 85.5 %; unmarried 81.15 %; alcoholic habits 76.81 % tabacco 66.66 %; marijuana drug of beginning 55.07 %; combination of substances 100 %; disfuncionals families 69 575; addict relatives 97.08 %; under academic yield 100 % of the cases. a high risk of addiction in university students exists, is urgent to implement oriented strategies to prevent and to fight the drug consumption and promote an university and a free world of drugs.
