Evaluación de sustratos orgánicos y en combinación con insecticida para la captura de adultos de Opsiphanes cassina Felder en una plantación de palma aceitera (Elaeis guineensis Jacquin.) en el estado Zulia, Venezuela

different organic substratum's and also in combination with insecticide monocrotophos (azodrin) were evaluated to determine which was the most effective to capture opsiphanes cassina adults in an oil palm commercial crop. the treatments were molasses, fruits (guava, papaya and banana), and the combination of each one with insecticide. the treatments were distributed in plastic traps in an 8.93 has surface. each trap was placed in the middle of 18 plants for 8 treatments total. counts were accomplished during 8 weeks, with a 2 weeks interval between phases. it was possible to see that the use of insecticide altogether with attractive substratum is not necessary. it was obtained an average of 12.95 adults without insecticide, in contrast of the 11.5 adults with insecticide. among the substratum's without insecticide was demonstrated the superiority (p<0.01) of molasses (23.52 adults) compare with the others treatments. these results show the possibility of manage the o. cassina adult's population by using molasses as attractive substratum without negative effects in the oil palm environment.
