Abstract: this work proposes a solution for the conflict between the fundamental rights to honor and the freedom of information, arisen during the first stages of the criminal process until the charges are filed. by way of balancing the limitations reciprocally imposed by both rights and based on the principle of proportionality, the doctrinal and jurisprudential reasons that allow determining when the need to prefer honor over freedom of information in the criminal court are obtained.
