the objective of this research was to evaluate the porcelain-alloy bonding strength using a local-made alloy under different times of pre-oxidation with a ceramic system. the test used was preconized by chiodi netto. the results lead to the following conclusions: the control group (no pre-oxidation) showed the best values, statistically significant, when compared with others groups. the different times of pre-oxidation procedures reduced the values significantly, and the groups were similar to each other. the group submitted to the sandblasting process after a pre-oxidation of 5 minutes, showed similar values when compared with the other groups treated with pre-oxidation without sandblasting.
