Barroco jesuita, teología de los afectos y educación estética en el siglo XVII novohispano

this article examines the relation between catholic christian theology in mexico in the xviith century, specifically in the ideas of authors who belonged to the society of jesus, and the baroque style in the works which were created in that historical period, most of all in paintig, poetry and architecture. the ideas expressed by tomás de alfaro, s.j. (ca. 1667) and luis de villanueva, s.j. (1605-1659) are especially studied.
