during the late seventies the lack of acceptance by neurosurgeons of the new technological developments in spine surgery (ss) made that, in argentine, their participation in ss diminished in spite of being competent. ss has become a subspecialty; therefore health services usually require certification for its practice. neurosurgeons cannot be certified in cc, jeopardizing their working possibilities. to solve this problem we need to be certified in ss. this will facilitate to all neurosurgeons certified in ss their access to health services.
