LA REGION EPIDIDIMARIA DE LA PALOMA (Columba livia): ANALISIS MORFOLOGICO Y MORFOMETRICODOI: 10.4067/S0716-98681999000100003 Keywords: epididymal region, excurrent duct system, morphology, morphometry, pigeon. Abstract: the epididymal region of the pigeon consists of a mass of tubules attached to the dorsomedial surface of the testis, and comprising proximal and distal efferent ductules and a short epididymal duct. the efferent ductules are lined by a stereociliated pseudostratified epithelium and the epididymal duct by a nonciliated pseudostratified low colummnar epithelium. the morphometric evaluation showed that the proximal efferent ductules have the greatest calibre (x = 283,64 μm) in epididymal region, with possible physiological envolvement in seminal fluid resorption
