this paper analyzes some of the notions that infuse governmentality studies. by these i refer to a set of works originally derived from foucault's 1977-1978 lectures at the collège de france, which originated a relevant literature both in france and in the english-speaking world on the topic. this article focuses particularly on the production of the authors grouped in the" history of the present" network.
