Organizaciones armadas revolucionarias latinoamericanas: problemas y propuestas de análisis

there is some separation between the empirical data available and the various proposals for conceptualization of the phenomenon of armed organizations. the numerous case studies, despite their value, lack of benchmarks for understanding the specificity of each case and identify trends or similarities. this situation is related to the shortcomings of the available general interpretations. these are unable to account for the dynamism and variety of the phenomenon discussed. the article analyzes findings ad shortcomings of the usual interpretations as well as some promising alternatives focused on the relationships between the ideological premises, their own context and organizational dynamics.
