ANOMALIAS DEL TRACTO URINARIO DETECTADAS PRENATALMENTE: CONDUCTA DIAGNOSTICA POSTNATALKeywords: maternal-fetal ultrasonograh, urinarytract anomalies, pre-natal hydronephrosis, pielectasis, vesicoureteral reflux. Abstract: systematic utilization of maternal-fetal ultrasonograh in the follow-up of normal pregnancies had shown one congenital abnormality per100 pregnancies; 20% of them affect the urinary tract.to identify the type of anomalies of the urinary tract detected by prenatal ultrasonograh and to guide its study, follow-up, and medical management in each. postnatal study of children who were refered to nephrology service after maternal-fetal ultrasograph anomaly detected during fetal period. whithin january 1st, 2004 and december 31st, 2006, we received 72 children with prenatal diagnosis of urinary tract anomalies:10 left the follow-up before to obtain definitive diagnosis and in 62 the study was completed and arrived to diagnosis, conforming the following pictures: hydronephrosis: 21 (39,9%), pielectasis: 17 (27,4%), vesicoureteral reflux: 10 (16,1%), unilateral renal agenesis: 4 (6,4%), double colecting system: 3 (4,8%), multicystic dysplastic kidney: 2 (3,2%), posterior urethral valves: 2 (3,2%), and others anomalies: 3 (4,8%). dilatating anomalies (hydronephrosis, pielectasis, and vesicoureteral reflux) are the most frequently urinary tract anomalies detected using ultrasonograh study during pregnacies (48/62 = 83,4%), but others anomalies may be detected and need adequate study and follow-up.
