alzheimer’s disease not only affects older people suffering from it but also has a significant effect on his/her family. it is mostly the family caregivers who have a 24 hour period dedication looking after these patients. it is very important for the nursing professional to know about alzheimer’s disease and the nursing care in the community. in this bibliographical review, the most frequent symptoms in each one of the three levels of cognitive impairment, and the possible causes of older adults behavior with alzheimer’s disease is presented within a broad and diversified approach to nursing care for these patients.
