Osteochondritis dissecans of the astragalus

a literature review and updating of osteochondritis dissecans of the astragalus was made. the objective of this paper is to delve into the new diagnostic and surgical techniques used in this pathology. from the diagnostic point of view, emphasis is made on the tomographic examination, nuclear magnetic resonance and arthroscopic analysis. the surgical treatment may be arthroscopy or arthrotomy and the results achieved by several authors according to the analyzed surgical techniques are provided.
