Experiencia con los lentes fáquicos Artiflex como opción correctiva de la alta miopía

objective: to determine the effectiveness of artiflex phakic lenses in high myopia correction at "ramón pando ferrer" cuban institute of ophthalmology in the january 2006-january 2008 period. method: a prospective and descriptive study was undertaken, the universe of which was 20 eyes implanted with these lenses. results: the achieved refractive outcomes in patients were the following: spheral component was 0,25; no case of induced astigmatism, and the improvement of corrected visual acuity was 0,9. there were not transoperative complications whereas the predominant complication in the postoperative phase was iritis or uveitis (40 %) between the inmediate and mediate postoperative periods. conclusions: the refractive results were favourable. the uncomplicated patients predominated.
