Desarrollo histórico y fundamentos teóricos de la electromiografía como medio diagnóstico

a review of the theoretical foundations of the application of needle electromyography as a diagnostic tool was made. the historical background of its development, the characteristics, and variables of the electromyographic registration were exposed and analyzed. the applications of the latest advances of science, technique, and the methods of statistical analysis have triggered electromyography, allowing to improve the functional diagnosis of the neuromuscular diseases, and to widen its application spectrum. this review is aimed at making these aspects known to specialists from other medical branches.
