starting from the criteria that necropsy is the most complete study of the sick person/disease, and the guarantee of quality in medicine, it is stated the need of its strengthening and maximal use. actions and their executors are exposed to attain what a necropsy should be in the xx century. in cuba , although the situation is not as critical as in other countries, a national program of necropsies making official the beginning of these actions is pending.
