the possible irritant effect of a formulation that will be used as a deodorant and that contains methenamine, a urinary antiseptic, as an active principle, is evaluated. this formulation was applied by ophthalmic route to 6 new zealand breed rabbits for 7 days. the assessments are based on the macroscopic observations of the possible adverse effects appearing in the skin structures.
