Prevalencia del antígeno de superficie de la hepatitis B, en el área de salud "Raúl Sánchez"

a study was conducted to know the prevalence of the hepatitis b surface antigen in a randomly selected sample from "raúl sánchez" health area, in 1995. a seroepidemilogic survey was done and the immunoenzimatic method (elisa) was used. a prevalence of the studied marker equal to 4.2 % was detected. the highest prevalence was found in the age group 15-29. as regards the factors considered as risk factors, there were statistically significant differences that show a higher percentage of positivity among those living together with suspected cases or with the sick. the index of subclinical infecton was 76.4 %.
