Importación de hemoderivados en Cuba: Necesidad de su regulación

the current scientific and regulating literature is reviewed and examples of cases published at the world level related to the infection of patients receiving blood or its contaminated derivatives are given. an account of the situation in cuba as regards the transfusion-borne infections and the mass screening of blood donations is made. comments are made on the import of hemoderivatives in different countries and on the regulating framework supporting drug trade, as well as on what is established by the world health organization. the situation of the country in relation to the import of hemoderivaties is dealt with, and some proposals of requisites to establish the controlled import of these drugs are made aimed at meeting the needs of the national health system.
