Abstract: chylopericardium is a rare complication after congenital heart disease surgery. it is caused by mechanical obstruction of the thoracic duct drainage or its lymphatic tributaries to the subclavian vein or by direct surgical injury. we report the case of a two month-old boy with hypoplastic left ventricle diagnosis who developed chylopericardium secondary to two cardiac surgeries and who underwent a successful pericardial drainage procedure. dietary fats were substituted by medium chain triglycerides.
