Ocorrência da ferrugem da videira em Minas Gerais

the grape leaf rust caused by phakopsora euvitis ono constitutes a threat to grape production regions due to the destructive potential of the plant. the disease was first described in asia and north america and in brazil, it was detected in 2001. currently, it occurs in parana, mato grosso do sul, sao paulo, rio grande do sul, mato grosso, roraima and santa catarina. in april 2010, plants of cv. niagara were observed in the experimental station of unimontes with typical symptoms of the disease. the analysis of symptoms and the characteristics of sessile urediniospores, slightly echinulate, with obovoid-ellipsoid shape formed in uredinias subepidermal, and erumpent with surrounding dorsally paraphyses led to the phakopsora euvitis as been the causal agent of the disease. this is the first report of the disease in the state of minas gerais.
