Abstract: introduction: the present study is an approach of the quality of life of burned patients hospitalized in a burned treatment center. the objective of this study was to verify which the domains of quality of life of those patients were more committed or preserved, during the hospitalization. methods: for the quantitative of the 15 interned patients, was chosen a descriptive-analytic statistics, where the sampling represented the 100% of the universe to be studied. the research instrument chosen was the sf-36 - medical outcomes shorts-form health survey, for being a questionnaire of generic evaluation of health, with easy administration and understanding. results: the results showed the domains physical aspect, emotional aspect and pain as the more committed during the hospitalization. on the other hand, the domains that came as more preserved were: vitality, mental health and general state of health. conclusion: even being in physical conditions of great pain and limitation of movements, the individuals tended showing themselves optimists, confidents in their own recovery and demonstrating a good perception of patterns of quality of life.
