Stereoselective Synthesis of cis-Substituted-3’-anilino-2’, 3’-dihydro-4-2’-benzo[b]furanylcoumarins via Intramolecular Aldol Reactions  [PDF]
Lokesh A. Shastri, Samundeeswari L. Shastri, Manohar V. Kulkarni, Vivek K. Gupta, Sanjeev Goswami
International Journal of Organic Chemistry (IJOC) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ijoc.2012.21008
Abstract: The present study reports the reaction of 4-bromomethylcoumarins with salicylidineaniline in acetone with two equivalents of potassium carbonate resulted in the formation of title compounds at room temperature via intramolecular aldolization. The obtained compound is thermodynamically and kinetically stable with highly stereoselective and excellent yield.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF ON-DEMAND ROUTING PROTOCOLS FOR VEHICULAR AD-HOC NETWORKS
A. Shastri,R. Dadhich,Ramesh C. Poonia
International Journal of Wireless & Mobile Networks , 2011,
Abstract: Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are a peculiar subclass of mobile ad hoc networks that raise anumber of technical challenges, especially from the point of view of their mobility models. Currently, thefield of VANETs has gained an important part of the interest of researchers and become very popular.More specifically, VANETs can operate without fixed infrastructure and can survive rapid changes in thenetwork topology. The main method for evaluating the performance of routing protocols for VANETs byNetwork Simulator-2.34. This paper is subjected to the on-demand routing protocols with identical loadsand evaluates their relative performance with respect to the two performance context: average End-to-End delay and packet delivery ratio. We investigated various simulation scenarios with varying pausetimes, connections and no. of nodes particularly for AODV and DSR. We will also discuss briefly aboutthe feasibility of VANETs in respect of Indian automotive networks.
Distribution Of Abo And Rh Blood Groups In Hiv Seropositives At An Integrated Counseling And Testing Centre In Karnataka, India
A Banu,SM Ahmed,S Shastri
SAARC Journal of Tuberculosis, Lung Diseases and HIV/AIDS , 2011, DOI: 10.3126/saarctb.v8i2.5901
Abstract: Introduction: ABO blood group system was the fi rst human blood group system to be discovered. Subsequent to the discovery of blood groups by Landsteiner and advancement in its study many workers tried to fi nd out associations between blood groups and the incidence of various diseases. The objective of the study was to create a blood group database which would probably help in transfusion services and fi nd out the distribution of blood groups in the seropositive population.
Impact of Lockdown on Human Psychology and Relief through Raaga Therapy—Therapeutic Effect of Raag Yaman during Covid Pandemic  [PDF]
Shveata Mishra, Ina Shastri
Creative Education (CE) , 2024, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2024.153029
Abstract: Music is a divine power that we humans are blessed. Blessed if we can sing, blessed if we can hear, blessed even if we can enjoy. Music as a form of therapy is also a blessing. Such therapies are free of cost without any side effects and can be taken in multiple doses throughout the day. Music (or more precisely Raag) basically should be of a kind that one can enjoy and can relate naturally. In this novel coronavirus break down it’s important for us to understand how we should control ourselves and develop a sense of resilience and wellbeing while staying back at home. Psychologically, creatively we can fight this Covid 19 stress musically (Misra & Shastri, 2014).
New Cloud Detection Index (CDI) for Forecasting the Extreme Rain Events  [PDF]
Niket Shastri, Kamlesh Kamlesh Pathak
Advances in Remote Sensing (ARS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ars.2019.81002
Abstract:

The water vapor content and clouds play a very significant role in atmospheric conditions. This paper is derived from the new cloud detection index (CDI) which is useful to forecast extreme weather events like heavy or extreme rain. The CDI is retrieved using two crucial elements of cloud formation, the critical humidity and critical water vapor. The cloud thickness is determined by using CDI for a radiosonde site (VABB) located in Mumbai, the western part of India. The obtained results are compared with the cloud thickness required for extreme rain. The outcome of the comparison is discussed in this paper. The cloud detection index is also useful in establishing the atmospheric stability along with another four atmospheric stability indices.
