Cysteamine in Maturation Medium Enhances Nuclear Maturation and Fertilization Rate of Sheep Oocytes In Vitro

Feni Dwi Kartika Gulo, Ni Wayan Kurniani Karja, Mohamad Agus Setiadi
Low nuclear maturation and fertilization rate is one obstacle in the in vitro embryo production which decrease embryo yield. This problem is presumable related with high production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) during maturation process. Glutathione (GSH) as an antioxidant is well known to overcome effect of ROS production. GSH synthesis in the cytosol part of the oocyte cytoplasm is influenced by cysteine availability. It is therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate the ability of c...

Liver Regeneration and New Technical Possibilities by Two-Photon Based Intravital Imaging

Ahmed Ghallab, Jan G. Hengstler
One of the outstanding features of the liver is its enormous regeneration capacity. Compared to other solid organs, such as kidney, pancreas, heart or brain, the liver shows a superior capacity to regenerate. Probably, this regeneration capacity has evolved during ‘animal plant warfare’, when plants protected themselves from herbivores by new toxins and herbivores responded by novel detoxifying enzymes and efficient hepatic regeneration. Control mechanisms of liver regeneration have attracted sc...

Hegazy’ Simplified Method of Tissue Processing (Consuming Less Time and Chemicals)

Raafat Hegazy, Abdelmonem Hegazy
Background: Processing is the next step in the histological process after tissue fixation. There are three methods commonly used for such tissue processing. They are the routine manual, rapid manual and the microwave methods. This study aimed to proceed a simple new manual method in a trial to take the advantages of rapid manual and microwave methods and avoid their disadvantages. Methods: One hundred samples of different tissues and cell blocks were included in this study. They were divided int...

Dushyant Agrawal, Brijendra Singh and Gitika Arya Agrawal
Aim: This present study meant to describe different shape and dimensions of suprascapular notch, and to classify different types of scapula on the basis of notch. Material & Methods: 293 dried scapulae were observed, examined and studied in detail. Scapulae with supra-scapular notch were included in the present study. Measurements of suprascapular notch were taken with the help of digital Vernier calliper and recorded in millimetres. The superior transverse diameter, Inferior transverse diamete...

Experience of traction using paster boot in fractures of bones of limb bones

Ibrahimu B, Ibrahimu TK, Morisho N
Background: The authors report their experience in the traction with plaster boot for lower limb's fractures of children with 12% of bedsores by compression. This result seems to be better than the one obtains with sticking plaster in absence of adhesive plaster. Bedsores were not observed with application of cotton wool on heels and feet. The authors have solved their materiel constraints in orthopedic treatment of children's fracture.Methods:296 tractions were realized at the Ndjili/ISTM hospi...
