Exploring the Interactive Relationship between the Linguistic Landscape during the Asian Games and the Construction of City Image in ShaoxingDOI: 10.4236/oalib.1111493, PP. 1-9 Subject Areas: Sociology Keywords: Linguistic Landscape, City Image, the 19th Asian Games, Interactive Relationship Abstract There is a close relationship between the city image and the linguistic landscape, and the linguistic landscape, as an important part of the city culture, directly affects the shaping and dissemination of the city image. This study systematically analyzes and studies the linguistic landscape in Shaoxing during the preparation and holding periods of the 19th Asian Games. Through the investigation and case study, this paper explores the interactive relationship between the linguistic landscape and the construction of city image, reveals the key role of the linguistic landscape in shaping and disseminating city image, and discusses how city image reacts to linguistic landscape to promote its continuous development and optimization. This study not only provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the planning and construction of the linguistic landscape in Shaoxing, but also provides reference and enlightenment for other cities on how to effectively integrate linguistic landscape and city image and to enhance the overall competitiveness of the city when holding large-scale international competitions.
