neptuno-inia is an alternative oat cultivar obtained from a cross between nehuén-inia and urano-inia oat cultivars carried out in 1989 at the carillanca regional research center, national agricultural research institute, located in temuco, chile. neptuno-inia has been included in yield trials since 1996. it has a good yield (7.01 t ha-1), and especially good industrial (4.93 t ha-1) and milling (1.42) yields, as well as a high protein content (12.87%) and groat percentage (70.5%). furthermore, this cultivar is resistant to powdery mildew (erysiphe graminis dc. f. sp. avenae em. marchal (erysiphe graminis dc. f. sp. avenae em. marchal).
