According to a United Nations report, populationgrowth and urbanization are veritably creating a planet ofslums, which is expected to double by 2030.The slums in thecities of Africa and Asia are growing by more than a millionpeople every week. The report states that the growth of cities will be the single largest influence on development in the21st century (Ibidem). It is my endeavour in this article to examine slumsubaltern with reference to the fiction and the film SlumdogMillionaire. Based on Vikas Swarup’s Q & A, Danny Boylehas aptly brought out a celluloid sensation portrayingslum-subaltern.
