|
Abstract:
A comprehensive record discovered in the Yuetegan relic site in the Hetian Oasis, southern margin of Tarim Basin, gives us a brief history of environmental change and human activities since about 6 700a BP. Taking the local human activities into consideration, the changes of various climate proxies indicated a possible natural process of environmental change during 6 700-4 000 a BP. It reflected an evident humid period occurred at about 6 700-6 500 a BP; at about 4000 a BP, climate turned into aridity; and at about 3 000 a BP, a relatively cold humid period appeared; stronger human activities started since about 2 000 a BP.
