Meeting Labour Market Needs for French as a Second Language Instruction in OntarioAbstract: Satisfying the demand for qualified French as a Second Language (FSL) teachers has been a persistent challenge in Ontario schools for many years. This article reports on research conducted with all publicly funded English-language school boards and hundreds of FSL teachers to better understand the recruitment, hiring and retention of such teachers. This research is part of a three-year project that involves multiple stakeholders in the FSL teacher supply pipeline collaborating to implement workable solutions to this long-standing issue
