Only a purelanguage can be proper transmitter of the culture. Today, it seems that the language will lose itspureness due to the negative impact of the media and the internet, which are the products of thecommunication age, on proper use of the language.Purpose: This research aims at describing the use of Turkish on the internet environment. Thisdescription was made based on the classification of the uses of internet users apart from standardTurkish.Method: This research is a qualitative study based on document analysis. MSN (Micro SoftNetwork) and Facebook correspondences of 163 people were taken as the universe of the research.Findings and Conclusion: It was determined in this research that our language’scharacteristics of sound are not taken into consideration, orthographic rules are disregarded and wordand sentence structures are not observed during the use of Turkish on the internet environment. As aresult, it was seen that Turkish is used carelessly on the internet environment.Key Words: Turkish, technological progresses, the internet.
