Por apoticarias, medezinas et espe ierias tomadas. Aproximación al oficio de boticario en el reino de Navarra (siglos XIVXV)

This article is an appraisal of the trade of apothecary in the kingdom of Navarre during the 14th and 15th centuries. Firstly the article brings us up to date on the health network of Navarre during this period. It then looks at the most singular features of this trade, such as the high diversifi cation of tasks undertaken, which focused not only on selling spices and medicines. Furthermore, it analyses the practice and the presence of some of these apothecaries at the service of the kings of Navarre. El presente artículo es una aproximación al oficio de boticario en el reino de Navarra durante los siglos XIV y XV. Tras una puesta al día sobre el entramado sanitario navarro durante este periodo se abordan las características más singulares del ofi cio, como es la diversificación de sus actividades, no solo destinadas a la venta de especias y medicamentos. A continuación se trata sobre la práctica y la presencia de algunos de estos boticarios al servicio de los monarcas navarros.
