Abstract: this article addresses the relationship between archaeology and education, focusing on archaeological heritage and non-formal education. this relationship has been highly developed in archaeological practice but its impact has been poorly conceptualized, systematized, evaluated and discussed in a way that would guide strategies on the transmission of scientific archaeological knowledge and its contribution to the enhancement of archaeological heritage. an analysis and theoretical discussion are proposed as a contribution to the conceptual and practical articulation of both fields.
