Flora Marina de la península de Macanao, Isla de Margarita, Venezuela: I. Chlorophyta y Phaeophyceae

a taxonomic study of the benthic marine algae of the phylum chlorophyta and the class phaeophyceae is given for the peninsula of macanao, margarita island, venezuela. twenty six species are described that represent new records for the area, enlarging the phycofloristic catalog of the region and the range of national distribution of the taxa. complete diagnostic description and figures are given for each species. the taxonomy of the species is discussed.
