This paper delves into the dynamics and trends within China’s cultural and creative design practice. Through a comprehensive analysis of practical cases of cultural and creative design in China, we categorize the development of China’s cultural and creative industry into three distinct stages and subsequently analyze and summarize its defining characteristics. Throughout different historical periods, Chinese cultural and creative design has undergone a transformative process encompassing commercialization, industrialization, and digitalization. This paper furnishes a comprehensive historical overview of the developmental trajectory of cultural and creative design in China. Additionally, it critically evaluates its current status and prospects, aiming to enhance our comprehension of this field’s developmental path and potential. In this way, it contributes significantly to promoting sustainable practices in cultural and creative design and safeguarding and transmitting traditional culture.
