白先勇小说英译文化顺应策略研究——以《游园惊梦》为例
A Study on Cultural Adaptation Strategies in the English Translation of Pai Hsien-Yung’s Novels—Taking Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream as an Example

作为一种跨文化交际活动，翻译是译者不断进行语言选择，对文化语境进行动态顺应的过程。白先勇小说《游园惊梦》英译本不仅再现了原作的语言特点与文化内涵，同时与英语读者的文化语境相融合，取得了成功。本文以文化顺应理论为基础，分析研究《游园惊梦》英译本中所运用的文化顺应策略，论证该译本如何在文化顺应理论的指导下成功再现原作语言特点和风格，以期为中国文学译介作品走向世界提供方法借鉴。
As a cross-cultural communication activity, translation is a process in which the translator con-stantly makes linguistic choices and dynamically adapts to the cultural context. The English translation of Pai Hsien-yung’s novel Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream not only reproduces the linguistic features and cultural connotations of the original work but also integrates with the cultural context of English readers. Based on the theory of cultural adaptation, this paper analyzes the cultural adaptation strategies employed in the English translation of this short story, demonstrating how the translation successfully reproduces the linguistic features and style of the original work under the guidance of the theory of cultural adaptation. This study aims to provide a methodological reference for introducing Chinese literary works effectively to the world.
