商务英语翻译中译者的主体性研究

Abstract:
商务英语不同于普通英语,是特殊目的英语的重要分支。在翻译过程中,译者需要考虑其文本特征和语篇特征,从文本的信息功能、目的功能和交际功能出发,对语篇进行解构及重构。译者的主体性,指译者在翻译过程中体现出的本质特征,也就是翻译的主体能够对翻译的源文本进行主动地阐释及转换。在从源语到译入语的转换时,译者充分发挥主体性,将源文本转换为能为译入语语言和文化所能接受的译文文本,达到预期的交际功能和目的。本文讨论了商务英语翻译中译者的主体性,首先对商务英语翻译的特征及译者的主体性的定义进行了阐释,然后结合目的论相关理论从译者主体性的三个特征进一步深入分析主体的本质:能动性,受动性和为我性。
Business English is a major type of English for special purposes. Compared to general English, translators must take features of context and discourse into consideration during the translation process. Viewing from the functions of the text, the discourse is being deconstructed and reconstructed. Translator’s subjectivity, refers to the characteristics translator demonstrate during the translation process. The translation subject has the ability to interpret and convert the source text. Through the conversion from the source language to the target language, the translator utilizes his/her subjectivity. The source text is then converted into a target language that is both acceptable by the targeted audience on the linguistic and cultural level. As a result, the expected purpose and communicative function are reached. This paper argues on translator’s subjectivity in business English translation. After stating features of business English translation, translator’s subjectivity is being defined. Further analysis on translator’s subjectivity is then conducted with adoption of the Skopos theory from the three characteristics of initiative, restrictiveness and purposiveness.
