THE THEME ANALYSIS OF THE POSTGRADUATE DISSERTATIONS WRITTEN ON MEDIA AND WOMEN IN TURKEY: 2007-2017 PERIODKeywords: Kad?n,Medya,Lisansüstü Abstract: The media, which constitutes an important part of oureveryday life, has been determined social and cultural structure of society; It plays a role in the formation of the judgments, behaviors and values of the individuals. How women are represented in different media areas, especially in terms of getting news, getting information and arranging relations; what kind of discourse about the woman is formed is a subject that needs to be examined on a scientific basis. In this research, postgraduate dissertations in the media and women field of YOK Electronic Thesis Archive were searched. A total of 95 graduate dissertations were found in the field of "Media and Women" in the 10-year period between 2007-2017 covered by the research. Thirteen of these dissertations are doctoral and eighty two masters. All data were analyzed by content analysis. In the first stage of the contents analysis, the dissertations prepared in the field of media and women have been categorized according to the years, the universities, institutes, branches of education, native languages, the subjects they are related to, research method and data collection tools. In the second stage, postgraduate dissertations prepared in the field of media and women; Postgraduate dissertations prepared under the heading of Women-journal, Woman-media, Woman-photograph, Woman-Poster Woman-Tv, Woman-Newspaper, Woman-Cinema, Woman-Advertisement are examined under eigth categories. Generated categories are classified according to dissertation subjects, research method and data collection tools. According to the findings of the study, it is determined that there has been an increase in the thesis of Media and Women ve in the last three years. In the theses, the qualitative method, especially the content analysis, is used more than the other methods; It is seen that the most dissertations in the related field were done in the Institute of Social Sciences, Radio Television and Cinema Department and the spelling language was Turkish. When examined in terms of categories, it is seen that master's dissertations were mostly prepared in the field of “Women-Cinema”, and also doctoral dissertations were prepared “Women-Newspaper” area
