THE CHANGING CHARACTER OF WAR: HYBRID WAR IN THEORY AND PRACTICE

Abstract The main mission of decision makers is to be ready to potential wars both in technological and mental manner during the peacetime. For his reason the prediction of how the future wars will be made is emerged as a primary goal. Especially, the conflicts with unknown involvers and technologies have created new concepts of wars during the 21st century. The hybrid theory of war as one of these concepts is examined in this article. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the features of the hybrid wars, understand the basic idea and explain the distinct aspects from the conventional wars. For this purpose, the question of "What is war?" is argued at the outset and the definition of war which is based on the hybrid war term is considered by giving plobal examples
