超高分子量聚乙烯在骨科领域的应用及基础研究进展

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is applied generally in orthopedics for its good tensile strength, wear resistance, impact resistance, chemical stability and low density. The application of UHMWPE mainly lies in joint prosthesis, orthopedic suture and artificial ligament. However, osteolysis triggered mainly by UHMWPE wear particles has been one of the major problems in total hip arthroplasty, a number of studies were carried out focusing on improve its wear resistence and biocompatibility in order to achieve better clinical performance. This article summarized the application and research advance of UHMWPE in orthopedics.
