Abstract:

Hierarchicallynanostructuredporouscarbonatedhydroxyapatitecoatings(HNPCs)onTi6Al4Vsubstratewerefabricatedbyatwo-stageapplicationroutefabricationofnacrecoatings(NCs)onTi6Al4Vsubstratebyelectrophoretictechnique,andconversionofNCstoHNPCsinaphosphatebuffersolution(PBS)bymicrowaveirradiationmethod.TheirsampleswerecharacterizedbyusingXRD,FT-IR,SEM,TEM,andN2adsorption-desorptionisotherms.TheresultsshowthatthemicrowaveirradiationtechniqueimprovesobviouslytheconversionrateofNCstoHNPCsascomparedwithconventionalmethod.AftersoakingtheNCsinthePBS,calciumionsarereleasedfromthenacreparticlesandreactwithphosphateionstoformcarbonatedhydroxyapatitenanoparticles.Thesenanoparticlesaggregatetoformtheplate-likecarbonatedapatite.Themesoporeswithasizeofabout3.9nmandmacroporeswiththediametersof1~4mmexistwithinandamongthecarbonatedapatiteplates,respectively.SimulatedbodyfluidimmersiontestsrevealthattheHNPCshaveagoodinvitrobioactivity.
