PreparationandApplicationofNano-compositePoly(vinylalcohol)GelElectrolyteinElectrochemicalCapacitorKeywords: nano-composite,polymerelectrolyte,electrochemicalcapacitor,titaniumoxidenanowire Abstract: Anano-compositepolymergelelectrolytewaspreparedusingtitaniumoxidenanowire,poly(vinylalcohol)(PVA),lithiumsaltandorganicsolventN-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP).Theobtainedelectrolytehasthepotentialforapplicationinelectrochemicalcapacitor,thePVAinitisinanamorphousstate.Theionicconductivitiesofelectrolytesincreasedafteradditionofthenanowire,andtheelectrolytewith3%(w)ofnanowireexhibitedthehighestionicconductivityof3.2mS/cmat20℃,asmeasuredbyelectrochemicalimpedancespectroscopy.ThetemperaturedependenceoftheconductivitywasfoundtobeinagreementwiththeArrheniusequation.Functioningasseparatorandelectrolyte,thisnano-compositePVAgelelectrolytewasusedtoassembletheelectrochemicalcapacitorwithactivecarbonfilmaselectrodes.Thecompositingofnanowiremayextendthelifeofelectrochemicalcapacitorsastheykeepmorethan90%oftheircapacitanceafter5000cyclesofcharginganddischarging.
