Laboratory diagnosis of syndrome antiphospholipid

Antiphospholipid syndrome is an acquired disorder autoimmune characterized clinically by the presence of arterialthrombosis and/or venous thrombosis and obstetric complications accompanied by laboratory detection of highvolume of antibody antiphospholipid for instance lupus anticoagulant , anticardiolipin and anti- 2 glycoproteinI, the latter being mainly of IgG class. It is classified into primary and secondary when occurs simultaneously toanother auto immune disease. It mainly affectsfemale patients.The conclusive diagnosis requires clinical criteriabeyond the laboratory criteria which must be present in 2 or more occasions within an interval of 12 weeks andshould be performed by standardized methodologies.
