A rare case of Moraxella lacunata producing combined native mitral and aortic valve endocarditisKeywords: Moraxella lacunata , multivalvular endocarditis , native valve endocarditis , cerebral emboli , modified Duke’s criteria Abstract: We describe a case of infective endocarditis due toMoraxella lacunata involving the native mitral and aorticvalves, complicated by cerebral emboli and resultanthemiparesis. The patient was treated with ceftriaxone andgentamicin and improved. This appears to be the first casereported in the medical literature of native multivalvularendocarditis produced by this rare organism.
