Performance Analysis of Ad-Hoc Network under Node Failure

Abstract:

In this study, an attempt has been made to analyze and compare the performance of the reactive as well as proactive ad-hoc routing protocols using OPNET modeler with respect to increasing number of failed nodes in the network. In present study, a comparison of reactive routing protocols i.e. Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing(AODV), Distance Vector Routing(DSR) and proactive routing protocols i.e. Optimized Link State Routing(OLSR)has been made on the basis of throughput, delay and network load, by increasing number of failed nodes in the network. Three routing protocols are being analyzed on the above mentioned parameters and had been concluded that OLSR performs remarkably better than DSR and AODV on prevailing node failure in the network.
